Our passwords at Healthy Paws are Active Directory based due to Aon compliance, and are synced and managed via an app called Nomad on your mac. Passwords last 90 days from when they are changed and Nomad will help you keep tabs on your password age as well as allow you to change your Aon AND Mac password (do not use Aon's email reminder to change your password)
If you're logged into VPN regularly, Nomad should connect automatically and show your password age clearly at the top of your mac screen near your VPN icon (see image below). You should also get alerts from Nomad on your screen when your password drops down to 15-20 days before expiration.
*NOTE: If you've connected to VPN and Nomad has not populated it's icon with a green checkmark and days left (as shown below) within 2 minutes of signing into VPN, be sure to quit and restart Nomad so it can prompt you to sign in with your Aon password and reconnect. If you still can't connect to Nomad, contact our team by submitting a ticket to Freshdesk.
Nomad is located at the top right of your screen with a number and a "d" at the end. For example, "65d" next to the triangle denotes "65 days until your Aon password expires"
Changing your password with Nomad (pre-expiration)
1. Ensure you are successfully connected to Global Protect VPN. (You need to be on VPN in order to change your password and also for Nomad to be active and display accurate information about your password age)
2. Click on the Nomad icon and in the dropdown choose "Change Password"
3. You'll need to enter your current password, and then enter/re-enter your proposed new password. Ensure your password meets Aon's password requirements (at least 8 characters, at least 1 capital letter, at least 1 number and ideally a special character - example: "Password123!"
4. Once complete and your password is accurate and meets requirements, Nomad will show a message saying it has changed your password successfully. It may take up to an hour for this change to sync, so please stay on VPN while this happens. Once the system updates, your new password will now sign you into your mac as well as all Aon-related logins and locations.
IMPORTANT: If you've accidentally used Aon's One Identity system via an Aon email to change your password instead of Nomad, you will need to follow the steps below
Updating /Syncing your Aon password with Nomad (post-expiration)
NOTE: If you DON'T get a message from Nomad stating "your passwords don't match", use your Aon ID and Password to get sign into Nomad as normal. Wait at least 30 minutes and continue to work while on VPN, then do a computer restart to see if the new password gets you logged into your machine. If it does not, your passwords may not have synced. Your old password should get you logged in for now. Submit a ticket to healthypaws.freshdesk.com
